Radio Modem


The radio modem at the base station is a 900 MHz Digi (formerly MaxStream) XTend. It is connected to a sector antenna, which is pointed towards the track. Tests have shown coverage on all paved areas of the NCAT facility. The Baja course has not been tested for coverage.

The base modem is set to channel 0 with a destination address of 1111. The RF baud rate is 115200bps, and the serial port baud rate is 115200bps. In order for a roving station to receive data from the base transmitter, its modem must be configured to channel 0 with a source address of 1111 and an RF data rate of 115200bps. Configuration files, which can be uploaded to the modems, are available below.
